Will I Ever Keep This Blog Updated??

Written by Velanche

Well one day I will, but who knows?

In any event, quite a bit has happened in recent weeks. My most recent endeavor took me to Gulfport-Biloxi, Mississippi as a Red Cross volunteer. It was a good way to check out the area that’s been hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina, and as you can imagine it sure looked it. I’ll have more on that soon, including pictures taken from the area.

But I want to give you heads-up that two new shows are now online that have been delayed for awhile. Show 8.41 (05-11-11) features the week’s Urban Landscapes Guestmix from October, an artist from Finland whose bruk and bassy EP is about to drop on Fluid Ounce. His is a dark set that includes several of his own tracks.

Show 8.42 has the week’s Urban Landscapes Guestmix from the Belgian-based duo 40 Winks. They are armed to the teeth with some tasty slice of hip-hop with lots of choice samples to make you smile. They have a very cool EP called Extended Pleasure, originally released in Japan and now available in Europe and other areas.

Last Friday’s show should be available by week’s end; I’ll give you heads-up when the posting’s done. The playlist for 8.42 will be posted online soon, as well.

Remember that you can listen or download the five most recent shows on the main website. You can also snag the podcasts (each show split into two parts) on iTunes and Yahoo! Podcasts, or just visit the site’s podcast page.

My play of the Most Recommended Music of 2005 will air this week. Part One, focusing on the albums, airs during the usual time this Friday. Part Two, on the singles/EPs, will air Saturday night from 9-11pm US Pacific on KCPR and via the livestream.

I will also have news later this week about the Breakestra gig happening here in San Luis Obsipo. For now, have a good week and stay cool.
