It’s Saturday, it’s a very beautiful day here in California, and I think I’m going to breathe a bit of the weather in.
Meanwhile, have a new show why don’t you? Plenty of fresh new goods in
the mix, but in addition comes two–yes, two–guest mixes.
The first comes from DJ Abstact Buta Fingaz. A life-long
lover of good and soulful music, he’s hosted a neo-soul show at KCPR in
San Luis Obispo (home base of the Urban Landscapes Radioshow) called Brownsuga Lounge.
Once he moved to Los Angeles after graduation from Cal Poly, he’s
continued exploring his musical aspirations. After learning the art of
using two turntables and a mixer, it wouldn’t be long before he started
sharing his musical love to others. He’s done two tours of duty at the
famous Do-Over Sunday afternoon event in Hollywood this year,
as well as choice gigs throughout the city. More of his energies these
days goes into making music, and he’s about to drop his first EP for
L.A.’s Golden Scarab label. His mix is an exclusive to the radio show. You can also check out his Myspace page, too.
Then a little later comes another mix…this time from Ishfaq.
A UK expat now making his home in Croatia, he’s been developing his
production skills and has earned admiration from some of the top
producers in the scene. A number of his works can be heard on his web site.
He was recently chosen as four finalists for his remix of Bugz In The
Attic’s “Move Aside,” which was part of a remix competition put on by
the West London crew. Ishfaq’s mix can be heard this week. He’s also on
Myspace.
