This week’s edition of the broadcast is special. I love a good cover song, and there have been some fine ones I’ve found and/or played in the two years since the last covers show I’ve done.

Coinciding with Cal Poly’s radio station KCPR doing Covers Week throughout most of its shows, Urban Landscapes has chimed in with the goods from past classics to forthcoming material and everything in between. The show ended up being surprisingly more acoustic than I’ve expected, but it’s always nice how the show ends up coming out nice in the end when I just go with the flow. It’s how I usually approach each show (albeit, with a little bit of forethought), and I think it works well here.

I have plenty of fresh music I want to share with you over these next few weeks, but this week comes of small sample of those nuggets, as two guest mixes occupy most of the show.

The first one comes from Koop. The third album from the duo, Koop Islands, was released last year in Europe through Compost Records. A domestic release has yet to happen, so in lieu of this comes a decidedly short mix to go with that short album of theirs (just like Waltz for Koop), the latest album clocks in at around 30 minutes). Short, but sweet, are both the mixes and the tunes.

The other one is from Jan Siegmund from Department Deluxe Radio in Germany. Once again, he provides music from the latest edition of his excellent radioshow. Some fine tunes are in the mix, so do check it.
