The Urban Landscapes Radioshow 11.08

Friday, March 14th, 2008

I’m way behind on the shows. Unfortunately, there’s been some technical issues that prevented me from recording the last few shows. So now it’s catchup time, and here’s the first of three to get you up to speed.

So enjoy the show, and look out for the others coming very soon.

WMC + What’s Coming

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Greetings, Peeps:
I just wanted to keep y’all in the loop as to the goings-on; things have been very busy, and I’ve needed to conserve and rejuvenate my energies as well as cross this-and-that off my long list.

One thing I’d like to put to rest is that I’ve decided quite awhile ago not to attend the Winter Music Conference in Miami this year. It was a simple decision, really; when I’m there, I put a lot of time and energy into the experience, with the hope of bringing the experiences back to you in whatever forms are possible. I have some lofty ambitions, and I’m working on my return to WMC to, in part, take those ambitions into account. I’m sure the people who are attending WMC later this month will make the most of it; it’s an amazing time there, and it’s really what you make of it.

Next come the web site. Just as I was in the process of finishing the next phase of the site, my laptop threw fits and is currently in repair for the second time in a month. I’ve gone without it for over a week this second round, having only received it back after being without it for two weeks and then returning it 24 hours later. In the process, I’ve ended up losing the files I’ve been working on, but luckily I had an earlier draft backed up elsewhere. Expect the new site to roll out sometime this month, perhaps a little later than sooner.

When the new version of the site goes online, it should have some kick-ass features that I’m really looking forward to sharing. The biggest one for me, though, will be the contributors that I’ve tapped to help bring you the kind of content you, dear reader, need to be in the know. Already, you’ve seen contributions from man UK point man Raggy of Off Limits Radio. I’m very pleased that he’s both accepted and contributed, and he’ll have more to share in due course. Meanwhile, my Bay Area dudester Rocky Rococo has dropped a post very recently that, for us vinyl heads, is very fitting and timely. His knowledge and love of music is deep, and I’m pleased that he’s agreed to offer his time when he can. There are more contributors with whom you’ll see coming out of the woodworks very soon, and all of this will make, I hope, for a richer, more informative experience.

There are a few other things I’m behind in: last week’s show will need to be recorded due to a technical glitch, so look for that one in the near future. Also, my monthly Soundscapes chart will need to be sorted out. I hope to have that for you next week, though it will once again be a hybrid of this month and last. Finally, more content from me in the form of more upcoming and new music (with sound samples) will get ramped up once the new site is in place.

As the transition moves forward, I’d appreciate any feedback or comments that you wish to share to help me make this site more useful to you.

Thanks for reading, and as always keep telling your friends about the show.

Peace.
