The Urban Landscapes Radioshow 11.13

Friday, April 25th, 2008

After being railroaded by a technical malady last week, the show’s back on track.

There’s plenty of good new music to share with you, as always. To help make up for the lost time, I’ve decided to extend the show this week, and add to the flava an exclusive Urban Landscapes guestmix nearly straightaway. It comes once again from the artist known as Ace:Space:Bass from Japan. He’s shared a mix last year, and he has a pretty chilled on to kick things off. It’s a super-sized mix, but I think you’ll enjoy it.

Brace yourselves come May, because there’ll be guestmixes aplenty that I’m really looking forward to sharing with you. Some I have on wait, and others are being concocted and should be in my hands soon.

Enjoy this extended edition of Urban Landscapes, and I hope to catch you back here next week. Peace.

Feel free to check out Ace:Space:Bass on Myspace.

A producers Market my a..

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

So the new trend is to get as many beat makers on your track as possible and Producers are becoming the superstars now. But so many are compromising their artistic vision to suite artists and we need to counterbalance that. Take me for example, I’m working with an r&b vocalist and also working with some MCs, but at the end of the day when I’m by myself, I make music that is ‘experimental’: no high hats, kicks slightly off, wierd noises.

As producers we need that release. I’m sorry Kanye Lovers, but his old stuff form himself will always be my favorite stuff. This new theory of dumbing it down needs a counterwieght or we’re all gonna be stuck with dumb music full of the same samples our grandma’s used when they were crocheting and making headbanging beats back in the day.

Oh No…No Show This Week!

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

I was left without a vital component of my show at the very last minute, causing me to cancel this week’s show. Bummer that, because there was some killer music that I wanted to drop and a new guestmix to boot. The guestmix will happen next week, and the music will somehow fill in spots during the next few shows. I’ll catch you next week; enjoy it!

The Snapshot – Coming Soon

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

So what do you do when you are running low on time but want to introduce some of the talented producers and artists with forthcoming/new projects worth spreading the word about?

If you’re me, you come up with something I’m calling The Snapshot.

These will be mini-interviews with such folks; a few questions from me, and answers from them. I’ll even throw in some pictures, and maybe more stuff too.

The first Snapshot should be arriving your way shortly, and they are biggies. Keep your eyes out for them.

Peace.

The Urban Landscapes Radioshow 11.12

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Three weeks has passed since the last new show, so you haven’t missed out on anything. After attending a conference two weeks ago, the following week I fell ill.

Now I’m back, the show’s back, and the music keeps flowing in. It’s another dig through the new goods as we are well into the springtime here in California.

Here’s hoping that all is good wherever you are on planet Earth. Back with another show this week.
